The food was superb and the staff very personable and helpful

We booked a "superior room". The room we were given was tiny. The wardrobe was very narrow ( to accommodate the confined space) so that so we had to hang our clothes around the room and draped over the one chair. Being on the ground floor and next to the stairs and external door, the noise of other guests banging down the stairs and crashing out of the door seemed almost continuous at busy times of day and spoiled the expectations we had for a romantic weekend, it being our silver wedding anniversary.

    location was perfect

more attention to detail would make the hotel brilliant

Excellent restaurant. Really wonderful. The hotel couldn't be in a better location. Bourton on the Water is a rarity, and Dial House is in the center of it.

The bed was very comfortable to sleep in and the staff were pleasant.

The cost of the room for one night with breakfast was very expensive for what we got. The room though clean was very small and spartan, so was the bathroom. We were served the wrong cooked breakfast and when the correct order finally arrived it was an extremely small portion I can only think this was due to the 'creative style' as advertised or the fact that the restaurant serves nouveau cuisine at all meals. The toast went back under done and the restaurant had no atmosphere - glad we didn't have dinner there the evening we arrived.

Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the young lady from bermuda.

The food both fro breakfast and evening meal was outstanding - The presentation and service was also excellent. The hotel is also very centrally positioned

The room was small and fairly basic for the price we paid. The bathroom was very well appointed but again very small. The price suggested bigger/better but we felt it was just a standarroom you could get anywhere

The village was very pretty and the countryside lovely. The hotel is well situated in the middle of the village and on the main street. A very upmarket village and the surrounding villages are within easy reach. Suitable for older folks and those looking for a quiet retreat. The hotel itself was clean and well appointed. Enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at this hotel several times now....a lovely hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff, and in the beautiful village location of Bourton on the Water, in the heart of glorious Cottswolds amongst all it's gorgeous honey coloured dwellings.....as you may be able to guess, I love this area. Hotel seems to have increased it's prices somewat over the last year or two......now quite expensive....but well worth it for the occassonal treat....and if you're rich...then you are very lucky....you can stay as long as you like :)

Food was fabulous...yes, fine dining indeed.... but seems to have become increasingly 'cheffy'.... which is absolutely 'fine' for dinner....but brekkie..hmmm! not so sure..... My fried egg appeared to have been cut out with a pastry cutter, so only the yolk was present on the plate....and as for Hubster's fried bread...well how many fancy dagger shaped shards can be produced from one slice of bread? Very artistic but perhaps not very satisfying! Although, that being said, it was all very tasty and along with the pleasingly plentiful supply of toast, came two croissants.....yum! Merci beaucoup :)

Staff was most accommodating, food was just outstanding, dinner and breakfast was the best!

This hotel is perfectly located within Bourton on Water - literally in the middle of town, yet in it's own quiet nook. Our breakfast was delightful and very generous.

Unfortunately, it was very pricey, for the level of luxury one receives. A standard room is very, basic - though perfectly clean - and not anything to write home about.

The hotel is quiet, comfortable and relaxed. The rooms and public areas etc. are all immaculate. The staff were obliging and friendly. The Classic room as booked, was small but pleasant and modern, with a modern and well kept, although small, shower/toilet/wash area. An excellent breakfast was served in the pleasant dining room.

The evening menu on offer was not in general, to our taste. The hotel does however, have a special offer on Tuesday night which is good value, but of limited choice. Nevertheless we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to any one who prefers a small 'Olde Worlde' traditional country house atmosphere, rather than a 'Hilton/Sheraton' type of venue.

    Excellent cuisine

Let down by poor coffee at breakfast

    Food was excellend.

Rather busy situation popular with tourists. Lounge not quite comfortable enopugh to sit there and read paper!

The room decor and the quality of the main meal.

Poor service - inconsistent with the service claimed. We were also charged a seperate service charge which wasn't merited. The quality of the breakfast was poor - eggs under cooked and sausages hard.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent, as was the breakfast. Hotel is in a great location and has lovely gardens.
